ABOUT ME

I received my Doctor of Music degree in 1984 from Northwestern University, and taught in Northwestern's Department of Voice and Opera from 1985 to 1992. I was the music director of Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chicago from 1997 to 2005.

I moved from the Chicago area to Ellsworth, Maine, in Spring 2006. In addition to performing as a pianist, choral conductor, and church music director, I teach piano and voice at my home in Ellsworth. Since moving to Maine, I have also been very active accompanying string and wind players, with performances at the College of the Atlantic, the Bangor Public Library, and Minsky Hall.

I am a member of the Maine Music Teachers Association (MMTA). I also design Web sites, and have created several new sites since moving to Maine, including one for the MMTA. For more information, visit A Remarkable Site.

I am a native of West Virginia. My hobbies include dogs, gardening, astronomy, and travel; I have viewed four total eclipses of the sun, from the Caribbean, the Black Sea, Zambia, and Egypt.
